Many cases of penetrating damp are caused by defects in the external structure of a building, such as damaged roofing, blocked or leaking gutters, cracked pointing, defective window seals or poorly fitted doors. Treating the internal damp without fixing these external problems means the damp will keep returning.

Roof & Gutter Repairs

Faulty roofing and guttering are among the most common causes of penetrating damp. Blocked, broken or overflowing gutters allow water to run down external walls and work its way into the building. Missing or broken roof tiles, damaged flashing and degraded felt can all allow water into roof spaces and down through ceilings.

We carry out targeted roof repairs and gutter clearing, repair and replacement to stop water at the source.

Water Ingress

Water can enter buildings through many different routes, including cracked render, defective pointing, failed sealants and poorly sealed junctions. We identify the exact source and carry out the right works to repair the building properly.

Leaking Doors & Windows

Poorly fitted or deteriorating window and door frames are a common cause of both penetrating damp and condensation. Failed seals, gaps in frames and damaged cills can allow water in, particularly around older timber frames. We carry out resealing, cill repairs and other works to restore watertightness.
